God of love and mercy, you call us to be your people, you gift us with your abundant grace. Make us a holy people, radiating the fullness of your love. Form us into a community, a people who care, expressing your compassion. Remind us day after day of our baptismal call to serve with joy and courage. Teach us now to grow in wisdom and grace and joy in your presence.
Prayer from opening of “Called and Gifted for the Third Millennium,” US Bishops' Pastoral Letter, 1995, on the vocations of all the baptized.
The Wisdom of St. Theresa of Avila Christ has no body now but yours No hands, no feet on earth but yours Yours are the eyes through which He looks compassion on this world Christ has no body now on earth but yours.
Through others, God calls us to share our gifts and our very selves. In giving of ourselves, we become more and more ourselves, God's unique creation!
